Position Summary:The Pipe Foreman is responsible for managing and directing pipe installation operations on heavy civil construction projects, ensuring efficient and high-quality field execution while upholding safety standards. Reporting to the Superintendent, the Pipe Foreman leads the pipe crew, oversees daily activities, and ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality.
Responsibilities:

  • Comply with (and actively promote) all Safety policies and procedures including reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses to ensure adherence to our Number One Core Value - Safety, first in everything we do.
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent to organize and plan pipe installation work, ensuring alignment with project schedules and objectives.
  • Provide hands-on leadership for the pipe crew, monitoring daily productivity, setting clear goals, and maintaining accountability.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of accurate time sheets, equipment logs, and daily progress reports, including work quantities and productivity metrics.
  • Conduct job hazard analyses before starting new work activities, ensuring that proper precautions are in place to mitigate risks.
  • Lead daily safety huddles, stretching routines, and weekly Toolbox Talks to promote team well-being and awareness.
  • Develop and implement material handling plans in coordination with the Superintendent to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Use advanced technical knowledge to set and calculate grades, operate pipe lasers, and oversee the safe use of trench boxes and other earth support systems.
  • Enforce company quality control standards to guarantee all work meets project specifications, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Ensure proper workflow and coordination with other crews to achieve seamless construction progress.
  • Act as the liaison between field personnel and management to resolve any on-site issues and maintain project momentum.


    Qualifications:
    • Extensive experience in drainage, water, and sewer line installation with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
    • Strong technical expertise in calculating grades, using pipe lasers, and executing excavation tasks safely.
    • Certification in OSHA 10 and Subpart P, with a solid understanding of construction safety regulations.
    • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to job sites as required.
    • Proven track record of supervising field crews effectively and delivering successful projects in heavy civil construction environments.
