President and Divisional Chief Information Officer (DCIO) for IT
Operations reports directly to the Senior Vice President of
Operations and Service Management for AdventHealth IT. This
leadership role oversees the strategy execution and service
delivery functions of AdventHealth IT (AIT) for the Florida
Division and AdventHealth University, managing multiple RCIOs and
their teams within an integrated IT organization. The position
focuses on three core areas: IT strategy execution, product and
project delivery, and IT support and field operations.As the senior
IT executive sponsor for the Florida Division and AdventHealth
University, the Vice President and Divisional CIO plays a critical
role in driving major business and IT transformation initiatives
within the market. This role collaborates closely with the IT
executive product teams, regional CMIOs and facility executive
leadership teams, representing diverse departments and services
across AdventHealth regions and the broader enterprise.The Vice
President and Divisional CIO is responsible for creating and
directing the development of short- and long-term information
system plans that align with AdventHealth's divisional and
corporate strategies. The position ensures IT initiatives support
the goals and objectives of AdventHealth hospitals and business
entities. Additionally, the role emphasizes alignment with market
and hospital strategies while ensuring strong clinical, ancillary
and business executive engagement to maximize IT impact.PRINCIPAL
DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategic IT Leadership:
- Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for delivering
IT services across markets, ensuring alignment with organizational
objectives and advancing the overall mission of AdventHealth.
- Develop and manage annual operating plans aimed at improving
all areas of responsibility. This includes identifying key
performance indicators, setting measurable goals, and implementing
initiatives that drive operational excellence and continuous
improvement across the organization.
- Assess and address the strategic IT implications of corporate
strategies and change initiatives, leveraging insights into
business trends and technology developments.
- Design and implement consistent IT service experiences in all
supported markets aligned to AdventHealth service standards and
AIT's Guiding Principles.
- Lead regional CIOs in the delivery of consistent and
customer-centric planning, delivery and support services across all
facilities served.
- Partner with IT product executives, university leadership,
market leadership, regional CMIOs and regional CIOs in the
formulation and thoughtful execution of annual and ongoing planning
cycles. This includes facilitation of the market request intake
processes, and the alignment of market needs with established
governance channels and the AIT Strategic Plan.
- Serve as the executive IT liaison between AIT executive
stakeholders and markets in matters related to planning, delivery,
and field support.
- Ensure the delivery of new technologies or services in the
market is well communicated and coordinated with the broader
resourcing constraints and market impacts that exist.
- Produce an annual plan for each market in the context of
AdventHealth's company-wide technology plans.
- Distribute monthly market IT service performance status to
identified stakeholders and implement service improvement plans
based on service performance opportunities.
- Lead and take part in the development and implementation of
mechanisms across AdventHealth IT to ensure that high quality
services are received by satisfied customers at an effective
cost.
- Responsible for assuring the end-to-end delivery of
market-facing technology support services determining proper
staffing levels and management relationships with other partners
responsible for services.
- Identify opportunities to enhance IT service performance. This
may include opportunities that involve new technologies, require
significant organization or process redesign, require changes in IT
strategy, or cross lines of business, customers, functions, or
geographies.
- Development of effective networks of internal and external
customers, suppliers, the technical community, vendors, and
consultants.
- Proactively enhance AdventHealth's brand influence and thought
leadership by actively participating in industry events and
national conferences.Budget Management: Develop annual capital and
operating budget for areas of responsibility. Oversee capital and
operational budgets for IT operations, building for scale,
balancing cost-effectiveness with innovation and
reliability.Ensures on-budget performance of information systems
operations and projects in compliance with regulatory requirements
and corporate policies.Service Level Agreements (SLAs): Define,
monitor, and enforce SLAs to ensure IT services meet the needs of
clinical and operational stakeholders.Automation and Innovation:
Drive automation initiatives to streamline IT operations and
enhance service efficiency, such as self-service and proactive
issue resolution.Performance Management: Identify and measure
service performance metrics to determine areas for improvement.
Leverage metrics and analytics to monitor performance and implement
enhancement strategies. Utilize industry benchmarks to ensure all
areas of responsibility meet or exceed established
standards.Customer-Centric Culture: Foster a culture focused on
customer satisfaction, enhancing user experiences through improved
service delivery mechanisms. Drive initiatives to enhance customer
satisfaction by creating self-service solutions, feedback
mechanisms, and proactive issue resolution strategies.Workforce
Development: Build and lead a high-performing IT operations and
service management leadership team, promoting a culture of
accountability, innovation, and excellence.Continuous Improvement:
Establish a continuous improvement culture, leveraging performance
metrics, stakeholder feedback, and industry trends to optimize IT
services.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure IT operations and service
management practices meet healthcare regulatory requirements,
including HIPAA and other standards.Governance: Proactively engage
in and lead designated governance bodies to ensure alignment with
organizational goals and objectives. Contribute to decision-making
processes, collaborate effectively, and actively participate in
discussions.Talent Acquisition and Retention: Attract, develop, and
retain highly skilled IT professionals capable of designing,
implementing, and supporting advanced healthcare information
systems and technologies.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Healthcare Information Technology, understanding of acute
/ambulatory care workflow and a knowledge of new/revised care
delivery models.
- Proven executive leadership in IT operations, service
management, and field support within a healthcare or similar
complex environment.
- Strong financial acumen, with experience managing large-scale
IT budgets.
- Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills,
with a focus on collaboration and customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrated ability to drive large-scale operational
transformations and lead high-performing teams.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
PREFERRED:
- Understanding of acute care workflow and a knowledge of
new/revised care delivery models - including, but not limited to,
Accountable Care Organizations and Bundled Payment models.
- General understanding Data Security frameworks including but
not limited to, HITECH and HITRUST.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor Degree is required; advanced degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in progressively
responsible Information Technology management positions with 10
Years in a IT leadership role in healthcare.
- Experience in a multi-layered, matrixed environment.
- Demonstrated large project implementation and governance
experience.
- Previous experience managing a large budget.
- Previous experience managing a staff of IT professionals.
- Strong communication skills-verbal and written.
- Relationship management capabilities.
- Technical strategic thinking/planning and vision setting.
- Results oriented management style.
- Ability to effectively lead and communicate IT Strategies and
programs with Senior Leadership.
- Experience in a leadership role defining policies and

- Master's Degree in Healthcare, Business or Information
Technology.
- Professional memberships such as HIMSS or CHIME.LICENSURE,
CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR
REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
- CHCIO (Certified Healthcare CIO Certification).
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Information Management and
Systems.
- Diplomat status of American College of Healthcare Executives
