Job Description:
Client is seeking a motivated individual looking for an exciting opportunity to join the team as a SD-WAN Network Planning Engineer supporting FAA/FTI program. As a SD-WAN Network Planning Engineer, candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing SD-WAN solutions to optimize network performance and ensure seamless connectivity across an operational large-scale Telecommunication network. The candidate will collaborate with internal and external teams, work independently on special projects, including developing network designs based upon emerging customer requirements.

The SD-WAN Network Engineer will be responsible for:
Design and implement SD-WAN solutions to enhance network performance and reliability
Manage and monitor SD-WAN infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and uptime
Extensive experience with leading SD-WAN solutions from vendors like Cisco, VMware (VeloCloud), Fortinet, Silver Peak, etc.
Micro-segmentation of service flows to enable sharing of untrusted segments of the network
Application of policies to enable network flow performance prioritization, monitoring, and visibility
Automated network path selection for optimization of application performance
Packet replication across multiple network access segments to improve overall service robustness
Next-Generation firewall and intrusion detection/prevention capabilities for edge devices
Conduct advanced security analytics for encrypted networks
Willingness to stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in SD-WAN and networking technologies
Collaborate with SE, Security, and I&T teams to integrate SD-WAN within existing network architecture
Troubleshoot and resolve network issues related to SD-WAN
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for SD-WAN configurations, processes, and procedures
Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures related to network management
Design, engineer, and implement SD-WAN solutions that support customer requirements and critical backbone architecture
Create SD-WAN network documentation and training as required for supporting engineering and NOC teams
Routinely perform proof of concepts and service trials while documenting system integration


Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Networking, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or equivalent of a 4-year accredited degree in a technical discipline
10+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on SD-WAN technologies
8+ years of experience in the design, development, and implementation of SD-WAN network architectures
Strong knowledge of SD-WAN solutions from leading vendors (e.g., Cisco Viptela, VMware VeloCloud, Fortinet, Silver Peak)
Understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network protocols
Knowledge of traditional WAN technologies (MPLS, VPN, etc.)
Ability to work with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Advanced presentation and technical writing experience
Strong skill set with Microsoft Office software applications and Visio


Preferred Additional Skills:
Advanced Cisco certifications: CCNP or CCIE
Experience with cloud networking and integration (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
Knowledge of network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible)
Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools


This is a 12 Month full time Contract or Contract to hire opportunity.

Pay Range: $80.00 - $85.00 per hour.

*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
